About

A Bristol practice built around reading sentiment and positioning across asset classes — carefully, and in writing.

Origin

Mindfabric Base began in Bristol as a small review practice for investors who already had research feeds and still found sentiment and positioning hard to reconcile with the books they held. The work started with family-office and allocator clients who wanted a second reading — not another forecast shop.

What we do

We review how narrative and positioning lean across equities, rates, credit, and commodities, then place that reading next to the exposures a client already runs. The output is a memo and a conversation, not a productised score or a standing mandate to manage assets.

Working approach

We prefer plain language over dense jargon. Sources are disclosed at a useful level of detail. Disagreement with consensus is stated plainly when the evidence supports it — and withheld when it does not. Clients leave with questions sharpened, not with a sense that every market story was forced into a neat frame.

People

Reviews are led by practitioners with buy-side and sell-side market experience in the UK and Europe. We keep the bench small on purpose: every engagement is touched by the people whose names sit on the memo.

Values

Independence from brokerage distribution. Respect for mandate constraints. Candour about what a sentiment review can and cannot settle. Hospitality to disagreement in the briefing room.

Location

Our office is at Level 10, 37 Queen Square, Bristol BS1 4ND. Most briefings run remotely; in-person sessions in Bristol are available by arrangement.
